Rules
|
- Player passes will be mandatory. You will not play without a player pass. Player passes will be presented to the referee before the game. Referees will hold the passes during games. Rosters will not serve as proof of registration. No pass no play.
- The referee will have full control of the game. There will be no conflicts with the referee. If there is a problem the captains of both teams will discuss the problem and try to solve it amongst themselves. If the problem cannot be resolved, the game will be terminated.
- The only person authorized to talk to the referee is the captain or designated team representative when the captain is not present.
- Sliding for a ball will only be allowed when no opposing player is within a distance that will result in contact. Slide tackling to win a ball from a player will not be allowed
- Game time to be two (2) forty-five (45) minute halves.
- A Coed team will be made up of (8) eight men and (3) three women on the field. No Coed team will have more than 8 men on the field. If a team does not have enough women to play a game, it will be left to the discretion of the captains to determine if the game will be played. A team may elect to play down if it has less than (11) eleven players, (8 men, 3 women). If at the beginning of a game the captain of each team and referee agree to play with less than the required number of women due to ‘no-shows’ or ‘late arrivers’, this agreement will be upheld throughout the duration (90 min.) of the game.
- Goals will be limited to three (3) per person (per team).
- All goals scored by women will be counted as two (2) points.
- Shin guards with socks over the shin guards and proper shoes will be required at all times. An equipment check will be made before the game. If found in violation, the player will not play
- Pick up players will be allowed to help teams short of players. A maximum of three (3) players will be allowed per team. Pick up players must be current registered members of the specific league, i.e. Coed for Coed, Men’s for Men’s
- Men will only challenge women from the front. If they challenge a woman from the back or the side, the woman will be given a free kick and a yellow card may issued at the referee’s discretion.
- Coed games will be allowed to end in a tie. If a tie occurs during a Men’s league game, a shootout will be used. Only team players (no guest players) will be allowed to participate in the shootout. Only players on the playing field at the time of the final whistle will be allowed to participate in the shootout.
- If a player receives a yellow card they must sit out for five minutes and their team will play down a player.
- One (1) red card or two (2) yellow cards issued to one player within any game will require that player to be ejected from the game and their team to play down a player for the rest of the game. This player will also be subject to a minimum of a one game suspension to be served during the next consecutive game. If a player is registered for more than one league the player will not play in any FSSA affiliated league until suspension has been served. Red cards result from violent or serious foul play, abusive language, and committing a foul in order to intentionally prevent an obvious goal from being scored and are penalized by an immediate exit from the game. A player’s pass will be confiscated until such player is allowed to return.
- Excessive yellow cards, red cards or aggressiveness of any player may be brought to the attention of the board by any registered player of the Lakeland Adult Soccer Association. Such complaints will be dealt with accordingly and the player may be asked to leave the league.
- Suspensions (further defined):
a.)A one (1) game suspension results from any red card or an accumulation of three (3) yellow cards.
b.)A five (5) game suspension results from a second red card in the same season.
c.)Any player receiving a 3rd red card will be suspended for the remainder of the season. The player will not be considered for play next season until they appear before the league’s board. The board will review the circumstances surrounding the suspension and vote whether to reinstate or not. There must be a unanimous vote by the league’s board for reinstatement to occur.
- All registration fees are non-refundable. Any exception will be at the discretion of the Board.
